First World Records Presents: Two Syllables Volume Five [Compilation]

Before yesterday, I had never heard of either First World Records or East Park Reggae Collective. But thanks to the mighty mighty world wide web, their beautiful music has infiltrated my home network and taken over my laptop speakers. I am going to first highlight “Love Radar”, though, which is the reason why I even came across the Two Syllables compilation. I often times find it difficult to find tolerable and exciting reggae music. I always seem to divert back to guys like Bob Marley, and, well, Bob Marley. If any of you can help me find more new music like what is provided by East Park Reggae Collective, you all get a free life subscription to Potholes!

Now for this Two Syllables Volume Five compilation, which features “Love Radar” and a number of other invigorating artists I have yet to hear much from, other than kidkanevil. But no matter how much I talk about it, I am really not going to do this awesome collection of eclectic music any justice. So head over to that Bandcamp page after the skip and show your support!

I have had their ‘The Frontline’ Album for a while now and love it to death. Standout tracks – ‘The Frontline’ and Bomber jacket. If you want suggestions for good up and coming Reggae acts then allow me to suggest Laid Blak from Bristol who have just won a European Reggae contest and have an album due for release soon.

Also try Gentlemen’s Dub Club, Jewels and The Jacuzzi’s, The Crabs Corporation, Hollie Cook (Sex Pistol – Paul Cook’s daughter), Prince Fatty, The Skints.

  2. Lovin it!
