We provided a teaser of this Potholes regular’s latest project a few months ago with the track “Chocolate Box”. And now, we have the full download for Falside’s Jesus Shaves beat tape, which is a step in another direction for the young Providence, R.I.-based producer. He’s experimenting much more on here, though still clearly a student of the boom-bap game. But he has moved beyond mere samples and loops to create some spacey, otherworldly production that shows progression and maturity. And you hear that right out of the gate with the rock-driven “My F*cking Records”, a wild amalgam of sounds and styles.
