F.Stokes first landed on our radar years ago; however, it wasn’t until 2012 that we constructed a plan together around the release of “My Simple”. The pop-centric single was an excellent addition to the midwest-bred MC’s catalog, and it set in motion a relationship that would lead to a number of future collaborations. Most notably the Liquor Sto’ Diaries, which we are proud to present to you today.
Produced entirely by longtime collaborators Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger of the Doomtree collective, what we have here is a short and incredibly sweet four-song EP. With that, this well-crafted piece of music is sure to knock heavily throughout the summer months. And as Stokes touches on a number of relevant, Chicago-centric topics, Liquor Sto’ Diaries is a testament to the rising MC’s supreme storytelling abilities and hometown pride.
Here’s what F.Stokes had to say about the project:
Liquor Sto’ Diaries is a conceptual EP by F.Stokes – produced by Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger of Doomtree. Poetically derived from the perspective of a dreamy eyed kid from the south side of Chicago, who found solace, pain, protection, wisdom and love from the different ghetto characters that occupied the street corners, and stood out front of liquor stores.
