Erick Arc Elliott – noir. [Album]

I stumbled upon this gem of an album when I finally got around to posting Toronto-based singer Kaya’s Imperfections EP yesterday. Apparently she’s been working close with rapper-producer Erick Arc Elliott on his forthcoming album, Almost Remembered, that drops this summer. But before I give that project it’s just due — and believe me, I will — I need y’all to hear noir. The album dropped back in January 2010, when the Brooklyn resident was no doubt looking to capitalize on the icy temperatures creeping outside his apartment window. It’s not that the tracks on here are necessarily harsh, but there’s certainly something cold resonating from my speakers when I listen to noir. If I can compare it to anything, it’s like watching the first snowfall. You know, when you’re not tired of shoveling yet.
