Elvis Depressedly – Mickey’s Dead [Album]

Elvis Depressedly is one of those fun band names that pun. You can try at home and come up with things like Isaac Haze which could already be a rapper on DatPiff that enjoys marijuana, or Janis Klonopin, a name that’d be perfect for a moody folk singer. But with the name Elvis Depressedly, despite what you might have guessed, it doesn’t belong to a chillwave artist from 2010. It’s actually the lo-fi side-project of Coma Cinema’s Mat Cothran. Mickey’s Deadis the album, and I’d like to believe it’s a Disney related nod to Curtis Mayfield’s song about a dead man named Fat Eddie. But if it’s not, that’s cool, the music works.
