I had never heard of David Vincent Reep’s work as Elephant & Castle prior to receiving an e-mail blast featuring the dude’s latest single, “Sweet Someone/I Will”. But now, after playing both tracks at least a handful of times, you can guarantee that we’ll be covering more of his music in the coming months. Reep’s got this uber-dreamy/psych quality going on here, particularly on “Sweet Someone”, which features the Beatles-esque melodies of Aaron Ferguson. You can purchase these tracks as a single right now while Elephant & Castle’s Transitions album isn’t due out until 2012. Sigh. Time to play these one more time.
