I can’t really begin to express how excited I am for El-P’s upcoming instrumental project, Weareallgoingtoburninhellmegamixxx3. We haven’t heard too much from the man recently, so my anticipation is higher than ever. I’ve been dying to hear El’s new album, but to be honest, I’m not too excited about this new track. Granted, the past megamixes definitely need to be listened to strait through, and I probably wouldn’t have been impressed with a single. And as for his instrumentals, High Water is… maybe my favorite album of his. And although individual tracks are amazing on their own, if you heard just one of them as a leaked track of the next El-Producto album, it’d probably throw you off a bit.
The biggest question I have about this release is, Is this the “new album” that El is releasing this year? In the past megamixes were tour cds if I’m not mistaken. I was really looking forward to hearing the follow up to I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead before year’s end… False hope?
Always up for some new El-P… And that album artwork is amazing.
