When the homie Lee, aka Intuition, sent over this new track from his buddy Duke Westlake, it came with the note that his music is like a blend of Flying Lotus and Skrillex. Instantly, I wanted to punch the computer screen at the sight of the latter’s name, but I trust Intuition’s taste so I gave it a listen. And while I can see (hear?) the similarities, I wouldn’t lump Westlake’s style into Skittles’ (no typo) approach. You can judge for yourself, though, by checking out the psychedelic visuals for “Sanity is Temporary”. I agree, Mr. Westlake.
