In a recent interview with Jeff Weiss and Nocando on Shots Fired, Aftermath veteran producer Dawaun Parker revealed a few details about the highly coveted new Dr. Dre album that, to date, has been called Detox. It turns out the album won’t actually be called Detox, if it ever sees the light of day. The name isn’t revealed in the interview, so don’t get your hopes up. But at least there is some indication here that there is an album that remains in the works.
Dawaun goes on to divulge a few more details about what’s going on with the previously titled Detox, including the fact that there are 100s of beats out there designated for the project, but only a few that were actually recorded on. He also lets us know that that “Get You Some” track that featured Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip and Marsha Ambrosius was originally slated for Detox. Yeah, I know, it’s not called that anymore, but how can we not keep calling it that?
