Plays The Uke is the work of an artist—Chicago’s Sam Trump—who found inspiration while messing around with a new instrument—the ukulele. According to Fresh Selects, the soulful singer-songwriter picked up the uke during a tour with fellow Chicago artists, Sidewalk Chalk. And after messing around with the instrument, he wrote his first song and quickly moved on to the next (no Jay Z). And the next, and so on until he ended up with the five tracks swoon-worthy tracks on Plays The Uke. This is, without a doubt, one of the smoothest, most laid-back project I’ve heard for a minute, and I get the feeling we’ll all be playing a lot in the evening hours.
