Stephen Jones, one third of the Atlanta-based production trio Introspective Minds, hit me the other day with this EP that his crew cooked up. To be honest, I had never heard anything from this particular trio, but after playing through just a few tracks it was obvious that they have something special going on. Eclecticism is an EP that shows off their production skills via original content, and some absolutely delicious remixes. The production is drenched in soul and atmospheric ambience. Introspective Minds also currently produces for former 106th & Park Freestyle Friday Championship winner SunN.Y. among other names. I caught these cats at the “Stay Productive” beat exhibition last night and they played some dope shit. I’d never heard any of their material until then but, I just finished listening to their whole Bandcamp catalog… they’re very consistent and this album definitely deserves more light than it’s received.
