Majestic Fourth World is the debut album from West Palm Beach, Fla. native DJ Buttamilk, who you might know for his work with Vulkan The Krusader. His atmospheric instrumentals are littered with crisp and spacious synthesizers that often lead to pieces that borderline ambient. But Buttamilk’s fondness for percussion, be it 808s or dusty breaks, provides a crunchy element that makes his beats knock just as much as they soothe.
And on Majestic Fourth World, he incorporates a slew of movie samples to truly make it a cohesive and engaging piece—this also allows the project to be an album and not merely a collection of instrumentals. There are moods birthed and developed here, along with some clear nods to greats like Daft Punk and Blue Sky Black Death.
