Yesterday, we aimed to hip y’all to Charlotte, N.C. rapper Deniro Farrar, who’s following has grown steadily thanks to his engaging live shows and true-to-life lyricism. We hinted that his new project, The Patriarch II, was dropping today and, sure enough, it has arrived right on time. Farrar delivers 13 new cuts on this immersive free album that features production from Ryan Hemsworth, KIRA, and the Kickdrums, among others, along with vocal guests like Child Actor and JMSN. Oh, and there’s a nuts Tetris theme interpolation on “The Night is Young”, which is handled by Ryan Alexy. I never imagined a rapper sounding so good over a 19th century Russian folk song, but damn.
