On this weeks discussion post we weigh in on the funniest hip-hop album skits. So many classic albums have great songs, but amongst all that sonic goodness we’ve also had some choice comedy in the form of intro’s, interludes and skits. De La Soul is best known for making album skits a prominent feature. De La Soul Is Dead is the album that comes to mind. We’ve compiled some of our favourites. Vote now!

my favorite album skit is the “Snickers” skit from Heltah Skeltah’s “Magnum Force” LP. Shit was hilarious. me and my friends still crack up over that shit.
Mad Black Daddy off of THE MINSTREL SHOW will always have my heart. That album was packed with nice little goodies in between tracks, and that skit had me laughing. Still does.
from the Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album, It just has a bit of everything on it, hilarious, father son relationship (which is also funny), and I could go on….crack up every time…I think it was recorded live, so it wasn’t staged either……….
Excellent site potholesinmyblog.com and I am really pleased to see you have what I am actually looking for here: “http://potholesinmyblog.flywheelsites.com/blog/2009/03/04/discussion-post-favourite-hip-hop-album-skit/” .. as it’s taken me literally 3 hours and 08 minutes of searching the web to find you (just kidding!) so I shall be pleased to become a regular visitor 🙂

@ Questo Bango I really wanted to include the skit at the end from Y.O.U. off the Blackout album but I decided against it the last minute…lol
No Redman skits? The word is ‘travesty.’
How are you gonna have 2 skits from Late Registration and NONE from College Dropout!?
“No I don’t know what sexy is but I bet I can count up the change in your purse real quick!”
Brilliant poll concept.
