By now, I’m sure many of you have jumped on Netflix to view the captivating documentary A Band Called Death. The film captured the rise and fall of Detroit band Death, which eventually led the rediscovery of such an uplifting and tragic story. Today, the remaining band members are happy to announce the upcoming release of Death III, a compilation of recordings from 1975-1992. This was the time in which the band was able to record with the late bandleader and brother David Hackney.
The first single from the release is a bluesy jam called “North Street”. It sets the tone for what is sure to be an eclectic blend of bunk, blues, funk and more. All of which will be able to be heard on April 22 when the band drops Death III via Drag City.
