Death Grips – “Birds”

Death Grips stirred up some bulls–t recently when they skipped out on a series of shows, including a post-Lollapalooza concert. Oh but guess what? It was all planned and they intended on just not showing up to gigs. In their place, they’re be a small drumkit, a projection of a suicide note, and looping music.

Considering how much interest people had in that whole thing, it’s not surprising to see that the Sacramento rap trio just dropped a new track. It’s “Birds”, an expectedly brash offering with some haunting melodies, intricate percussion, and a shouting-turned-cooly delivery from frontman MC Ride. Oh, and lyrics like:

I GOT RIGHT NOW BETWEEN MY LEGS
I PUT RIGHT NOW BETWEEN YOUR LEGS
I GOT TODAY SHOVELING GRAVES
I GOT TOMORROW TURNING IN YOUR GRAVE

I GOT POWER
ITS SO CHEAP
