dBiscuits – Biscuits & Logistics Vol. 0: The Medulla Oblongata [LP]

Some of you already caught the Medulla Oblongata reference. For those of you with less particular hippocampuses however, let me direct your attention to the classic Bobby Boucher (Adam Sandler) vs. Colonel Sanders scene in The Waterboy (“mama says…”) which is essentially the foundation for Port Perry/London/T.O. producer dBiscuits’s debut sample-based album. The impetus for this Madlib-esque work came about as part of a Masters degree project in cahoots with the mixing nerd Wormwood Jagger (also the author of Understanding Records). The result is something awesome you might Throw, like Stones.

Let dBiscuits take you on a sample JOURNEY. Stream a couple tracks, “Geebie Heebies Pt. 1” and “Tree Top Hop” below, but keep in mind the LP is meant to listen to like a seamless DJ set. Then make your way to his bandcamp where you can cop the record for free (enter $0) or leave a donation to help put this project to wax. (Hit the skip for megaupload link and to see the album artwork and tracklisting (Crystal Skulls!!!).
