Ahh, the friend zone. “I Don’t Wanna Hear That Shit” is an anthem for anyone who regularly gets down to Biz Markie’s “Just a Friend“. Don’t feel bad, Danny! has been there too. And, he’s speaking that truth, “No, dude wants to be that dude….I try to be nice / really wish you’d leave me alone / stop asking me for advice.” Well, I’m sure we’ve all gotten trapped in the Bermuda Triangle called the friend zone before. So, D-Swain chronicles his experience over a production that has driving synths, leads that mimic his inflection and bumping electro-bass. It gives me the Neptunes-chills, but it’s their shared Interscope vibe that’s throwing me that direction. This track, off his upcoming album Payback, is already taking shots. I can’t wait for it to drop. And, they say revenge is a dish best served cold; this track is icy, chill and some kick-ass music. Danny! only speaks the truth and on a beat that bangs. [via]
