We haven’t heard too much from Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz projects since 2010’s Plastic Beach. Sure, there was the collaboration with Andre 3000 and James Murphy and the previously unreleased cut, “Whirlwind.” However, the fans have been cravin’ a proper new album and, with any luck, we’ll get exactly that in 2016. Albarn told the Sydney Morning-Herald that he’s “reactivating” the animated band for a release in 2016 while another one of his projects—The Good, The Bad & The Queen—will drop a new album whenever they get around to recording it. That’s great news, too, of course, as I know plenty of folks enjoyed their self-titled 2006 project. That being said—NEW GORILLAZ, PLEASE.
