“Whatever happened to loyalty?” Dam-Funk asks on his appropriately titled new drop, “Loyalty”.
It’s a good question, and one he drives home by repeating money, snitches, fame, and similar terms with a pitch-shifted vocal effect. He also delivers it all over a tough G-funk instrumental, making this easily one of the Los Angeles resident’s toughest tracks in a minute. While I most certainly appreciate Dam when he’s feeling positive and trying to uplift folks with his music, sometimes you need to smack those same people in the side of the head so they can get the message. Consider “Loyalty” that slap upside the dome.
