Daedelus – “Off Angles Edges”

I think it’s safe to assume that if you’re visiting this site, you’re well aware of the incredibly innovative and fresh Los Angeles beat scene. Sure, some new cats might be faking the funk and jumping on the bandwagon, but hey, it’s not like some of the stalwarts have all of a sudden disappeared. Case in point — here is the latest track from Daedelus, who has found himself routinely changing his style up over the past several years. This cut, “Off Angles Edges”, finds the producer blending echoing vocals with erratic drums and glitched samples, making for a whirlwind of mostly instrumental insanity. I won’t spoil it, but I personally think the mini-synthesizer break toward the completion of the track might be the best part. But that’s just because I feel it’s when the song finally goes somewhere, if you catch my drift. [via]
