Squadding up is the hot new trend. There seems to always be a new crew combining their varying degrees of force, from LeBron James joining the Miami Heat to everyone joining Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group and Brick Squad marijuana carriers getting their own extra hands. One group of artists that isn’t the newest name on the block but continues to put out good records is the Wedidit Collective. At the moment the artist emerging from under the Wedidit umbrella is San Francisco’s D33j who recently released his album Tide Songs. It’s five tracks of mellow electronic music with the highlight for me being the opener “Park (Tape Version)”. But also listen for Gucci Mane occasionally stopping by on “Reever’s Edge” to simply say “lemon”.
