I hear you. I tend to subscribe to the “Build it and they will come, never mind the rest” philosophy. I’ve always found it problematic but profoundly human that hip-hop artists tend to build leaping pads out of haters. Derek’s stubborn and blaming defence mechanism, in full effect here, negates criticism. It actually makes it impossible before it even happens.

Mos & TK called it years ago. Hater players– whether they be indie, good music, amazing music, intelligent music, whatever — are just as bad as commercial spoon feeders, if you think about it.

C’mon everybody, just show your love.

Oh, that’s definitely what he’s saying. I’m just saying, especially given his level of writing talent, this wasn’t a good track. And, why be bitter about it? We choose our own path.

Wasn’t feeling this…rhymes were simple, scenarios weren’t that funny or clever, he really does just sound bitter.

People are fucking stupid, if you’re making smart, real hip hop you’re aiming at a smaller audience than Snoop, period.
