I don’t think Dave realizes that he opened a mini-Pandora’s Box yesterday when he posted Curren$y’s then-latest Covert Coup leak, “Full Metal“. Being the huge Spitta fan that I am, this means that I will probably end up sharing any tracks, mixtapes, EPs, WHATEVER that he releases for free. But why wouldn’t I? Dude’s been on a hot streak over the past year or so — don’t forget about his two Pilot Talk albums. And now he’s sounding even better on these Alchemist-produced tracks from Covert Coup, which drops next week. The newest song to leak from the EP is “Scottie Pippen”, aka a track that I have no words for. Seriously, I just want to walk through the night with my head down and a hoodie on while this plays. Then, like guest Freddie Gibbs, I’ll have a turkey bacon sandwich for breakfast. Good lawd.
