Currently Destroying Andrew’s Eardrums: The Jet Age Of Tomorrow

Hit the skip to check out my second installment of “Currently Destroying Andrew’s Eardrums.”

Because of reasons I won’t disclose in a public forum, I don’t exactly have a lot of time to write today. But I still wanted to bring you a semblance of this weekly series, especially because I’m only in my second week of doing it. So I will keep this short but I just wanted to share the music of the Jet Age of Tomorrow.

They are apparently affiliated with the foul-mouth, uber-creative crew known as Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. But with Jet Age, the vocals are minimum at best, with certain tracks featuring some vocoder-singing or minor rapping. As such, gone are the drug references, violent tendencies, and overall mayhem typically associated with OFWGKTA.

Instead, you are served a platter of spaced-out beats filled with airy synths, well-placed ambient sounds, and layers of atmosphere. If nothing else, their music serves as a great contrast to what you hear from guys like Earl Sweatshirt, Hodgy Beats and Left Brain, and Tyler, the Creator.

For comparison, Jet makes music slightly similar to that of the Jaspects, another crew I’ll probably write about soon. Sometimes, there is nothing better than futuristic space-funk grooves.

You can download the Jet Age of Tomorrow’s Voyager right here. Stream the track “But She’s Not My Lover” below.
