You probably could get a more expertly written article from the likes of Fact or Pitchfork, but then I doubt their writers are simply doing it for the love and the opportunity to air their opinions. Not all of us are Martin Clark’s or Joe Muggs’ but then again if everyone only read their articles what opportunity would there be for less prolific writers to cut their teeth. The fact that you get to read any one of 15 reviews of the Cooly G album or the Rustie album or whatever is a privilege, it means that if you want to you can make more of an informed decision about whether to bother with the music in question, as well as providing a significantly less subjective perspective if you choose to read through them all.

On another note a person’s nationality should be no barrier to their ability to appraise music wherever it is from. Ideally speaking they should have a good knowledge of the subject (hence why you won’t see me reviewing US underground rap records) but thanks (again) to the internet the world of music is now a much smaller place. I could go on, but no one needs an endless tirade aimed at putting the world to rights, I hope that this gone some way towards easing your dissatisfaction.

the sad thing is we know america ruins dance music once they start catching to it eg dubstep became brostep, electro hasnt died there yet, the constant dance billboard singles and now this diplo lead TRAP movement which many people thing will be the next brostep. seems like you only now have discovered MDMA and what you call “bath salts” (which seem to turn americans into zombies lol)
