Childish Gambino – “Fuck Your Blog” F. Flynt Flossy & Yung Humma

Childish Gambino is a cornball, we already knew that. There is evidence everywhere. So why am I posting another track about him? Well, because his latest song is called “Fuck Your Blog”, and we here at Potholes, happen to be a blog. We’ve heard it already, rappers getting mad at blogs for their harsh criticism. But when you are so damn contrived, as is the case with Gambino, how can you not be called out for being such an incredibly unauthentic excuse for an MC? Even this blogger call out seems like a lame excuse for more “Oh yeah, you tell ’em, Donald!” from all his SubUrban Outfitters following. But don’t take it from me, I am just a blogger. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.

  1. Nah, we’re not whining, we’re just calling out Gambino for sucking.

  2. Wow you guys are just as whiney as he is. I feel like you’re taking this song too seriously

Nigga, fuck yo blog. Who’s the one with more fans and followers than this blog will ever have again?

I assumed being able to write comedic material for 30 Rock & Community would assist him in delivering those funny punch lines in his music. I’m not saying he doesn’t, it’s simply not what I expected.

  7. flynt floss & yung humma went in tho

  8. This is straight doo-doo butter fam. Don’t nobody listen to Childish Gambino and take him seriously. People smile and nod and acknowledge his existence but laugh behind his back. This track gets a 1.6 just like Camp did on P4K.

In terms of a CG song, this is pretty good. The ideas he’s presenting make sense and are coherent, but as you said, is uninteresting. His punchlines lack euphony. If he were more “rhyme-y” he’d be a lot more interesting. Since he isn’t doing anything crazy content-wise, he needs to do more to make his music, musical.

  10. I am not sure what makes it seem like we have no sense of humor… Just because a song is supposed to be comical doesn’t make it funny. The only joke here is Childish Gambino’s existence.

  11. Of course an actor-turned-rapper doesn’t need / understand blogs. I don’t mind the idea of the song if it was well executed, but this, as expected, is whaaaaaaaaaack.

  12. Not only that, but he’s repetitive and boring.

  13. Nothing to get over. Childish Gambino is straight trash.

So Potholes just has no sense of humor then, right? Get over yoursel and enjoy the song.

raps about blogs/internet like this are throwaway for pretty much any artist. CG demonstrates he has skill in general but is an expert at burying gems in the rough. More like Squirrelish Gambino. He has the potential but tends to pick subject matter that is uninteresting or simply irrelevant. The way he acts reminds me of MF DOOM when he would send imposters to shows. Apologists say he’s doing it for meta-giggles or some critique of the art form/musician, but in the end I’d like to chalk it up to lazy, low-hanging fruit antics.

The goat line was kinda humorous though..
