It’s pretty hard for me to sleep on any artist from Chicago. In my eyes, the mid-west is the hot spot right now. I am willing to hear all sounds from Windy City artists because I never know what to expect. With that being said, a friend of mine told me I should check out this kid named Chassion because “he has a pretty dope song out.” The song she was referring to is “You Said” and, needless to say, I was quite satisfied. Olivia Reyes’ voice is absolutely mesmerizing and is fairly reminiscent to Miguel. Chassion uses various flows and even does a bit of singing, within his range, on this self-produced cut.
Thankfully, we now have the official visual for “You Said,” directed by Verluxe, which is an all-girl video crew in Chicago. It is also significant to mention that Verluxe has worked with some prominent Chicago acts, such as Twista, Vic Mensa, King Louie and Chance the Rapper. The video follows a guilt-ridden Chassion, who is attempting to cope with the loss of his girlfriend (played by Tatyana Gaona). Keep your eyes on this kid and watch the emotional roller-coaster that is “You Said” below.
