Chachi Carvalho – “Evolution”

You may know the name of this MC from a number of sources, but if you’re a frequent Potholes reader I’ll guess that he looks familiar after you heard his killer track on the Ocean State Sampler.  His song was definitely one of my personal favorites on the compilation, though I must admit I still play ‘em all to this day. As such, you can’t blame me for following Chachi Carvalho and keeping up on his recent developments, such as “Evolution”, which was produced by fellow Rhody hip-hopper J.DePina. The result is a smooth blending of Chachi’s personal rhymes, bouncy drums, and rising and falling strings. In other words, it’s a fine complement to this shitty weather we’re enduring here in Rhode Island as it adds a lil’ brightness to these darker days.
