Jack Magma – “SuperPowers”

We have been eagerly anticipating new music from New York future-R&B/funk artist Jack Magma since we stumbled upon his killer “Cat Gotcha Tongue?!?” since from last fall. We then called the Buffalo singer-producer one of the twelve acts to watch for in 2013, which we kind of hoped would lead him to release new material. And hey, it might have taken half a year for him to do so, but Magma returns today with the fantastic “SuperPowers”. It couldn’t have arrived at a better time, either, as the single is pure sun-in-your-face vibes and made for warmer weather. Apparently it’s the second single off his upcoming An Electric Purple project, which hopefully drops soon.

Kenny Dennis (Serengeti) – “Can’t Wait” P. Jel & Odd Nosdam

Serengeti is impatient. How do I know this? Because the Chicago native just dropped a new song under his hilarious goofball alter ego, Kenny Dennis, called “Can’t Wait”. And the whole point is that he cannot wait until his new album, Kenny Dennis, drops next Tuesday, June 25. Well, that’s not all he raps about, as he mentions his one-time beef with Shaq and name-drops homerun king Albert Belle over Odd Nosdam and Jel‘s raw production. The song also features DJ Abilities on the scratches.

Today marks the release of TV Girl‘s latest project, Lonely Women EP. If you’ve been a fan of their past work, then their new offering shouldn’t be far off. Building on knack for crafting wonderfully catchy tunes, the duo have yet another stack of songs that are perfect for singing and dancing along to. With yet another release added to the catalog, TV Girl has solidified themselves as top-notch writers of nostalgic love songs.

With the release of “The Lottery” it became clear the Stepkids were headed in a new musical direction. And we welcome progress here at Potholes, so we were hyped to hear the Steely Dan-inspired jam. Today, though, things are taken to the next level with the accompanying visual presentation. Complete with sleazy attire, psychedelic effects, and loads of male strippers, you never know where the next scene is going to take you.

Troubadour is set to drop Sept. 10 via Stones Throw.

Stream Yosi Horikawa’s ‘Vapor’ In Its Entirety

As a graduate of the Red Bull Music Academy, Yosi Horikawa has slowly been working towards his full-length debut. Today, we finally get a taste of the project, Vapor. With 16 tracks to work with Yosi does a fine job exemplifying how vast his sound can be. Employing a slew of worldly sounds, from African tribal rhythms to ’80s synthesizers, the blend is more than eclectic. And he does a fine job of pulling it all together, too, as Vapor turns out to be a cohesive project throughout. [via]

Freddie Gibbs – “Eastside Moonwalker” [Video]

In addition to revealing the artwork and final track listing for ESGN, Freddie Gibbs shared the video for his latest single from that project. It’s “Eastside Moonwalker”, a tough-as-hell cut featuring an absolutely bonkers instrumental that makes me wish Danny Brown was poppin’ up for the third verse. He doesn’t, of course, but that’s more than OK because Gibbs has seriously been in his zone on every ESGN drop we’ve heard. The video is solid, too, thanks to some flashy special effects and Gibbs’ command of the camera. Now, go fight someone.

Drake – “On My Way” F. James Fauntleroy

Fans of Drake‘s So Far Gone era woozy R&B will be excited to hear “On My Way”. While it originally surfaced in 2010, someone over at KanyeToThe found a tags-free, high-quality version of the track that’s made for late nights. It’s a collaboration with gifted singer-songwriter James Fauntleroy, who recently worked with Drizzy on “Girls Love Beyonce” and serves as the frontman for Cocaine 80s. I know some of y’all might hate on this, but I’m diggin’ it.

Prodigy – “Dough Pildin’” P. Alchemist [Video]

In the new “Dough Pildin’” video, Prodigy can be seen getting back to his hustler tip. He and his crew run their operation out of his home, where gold plaques chill in his living room and the Queens rapper sips booze and takes steady puffs. You can also find P on the road showing off his stacks of cash and delivering his product to whoever’s payin’ up. It might all seem like a celebration of where he’s at, partially because he’s piling dough while on the job. But Alchemist’s production and self-aware bars from Prodigy make it clear that there’s more to this than you might think.

Stream Ta-Ku’s ‘Dowhatyoulove’ In Its Entirety

With a leak or two in the bag, Ta-ku moves forth in releasing his Dowhatyoulove project thanks to the good folks at Jakarta Records. The 18-song instrumental album is available on limited-edition vinyl and boasts more of that boom-bap sound from the Perth, Australia native. This project will later receive a companion EP featuring collaborations with Blu, which, if you didn’t know, should be awesome. Until then, though, we’re going to keep Dowhatyoulove on repeat.

Hear Pharrell’s Four New Songs on ‘Despicable Me 2′ Soundtrack

After hearing the lead single off the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack, it appears the entire project has found its way onto the Internet. Thanks to BuzzFeed, we get to hear the four Pharrell cuts in their entirety, plus an addition from Cee-Lo Green, too. The tracks, while accessible, are also loads of good fun. Give them a spin below.
