Busta Rhymes & Q-Tip – “Butch & Sundance”

q-tip-busta-studioHere’s one last drop from Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip before their joint mixtape, The Abstract and The Dragon, drops at midnight tonight. “Butch & Sundance” is pure tag-team hip-hop from the two longtime collaborators who trade bars over a playful, bass-heavy beat. It all sounds a little rough, but that’s kind of what’s endearing about the cut. You feel like you’re in the studio with the guys as they’re spitting their verses while Tip puts the instrumental together on his MPC. Do I wish it was cleaner and/or sounded finished? Sure, but I’ll take what I can get from these two if it means new bars from the Abstract.

okay. only complaint is i dont dig busta’s SUPER low growl thing he has now. When he comes up a bit theres more clarity. Otherwise i actually dug it. Gave me more hope than “thank you”. Beat reminded me of “love movement” a bit. And TIp STILL has it.
