Brother Ali – “Stop The Press” P. Jake One

Given the fact dude’s career is insanely consistent, it always feels like an eternity between Brother Ali releases. But to be fair to dude, he did just give us (no pun) The Bite-Marked Heart EP this past February. And on top of that, he’s dropped some loose cuts that have been nothing short of impressive.

Moving forward, though, Ali is focusing on his upcoming album, Mourning In America and Dreaming In Color, which is already off to a huge start with “Stop the Press”. Backed by soulful, brassy production by Jake One, the Minneapolis rhymesayer (pun intended) addresses everything that’s happened to him over the past few years. This includes the tragic loss of his father, Eyedea‘s passing, and much more, all of which is handled with Ali’s trademark sharper-than-sharp delivery.
