When I had listened to Bosco in the past, it happened when she was still using her first name, Brittany, and she had dropped a pretty sick free album, Spectrum 2.0. It looks like she has grown up and developed her style considerably since then, though, as she’s dropped the Brittany, ramped up the funk and electronics, and delivered one of the more surprising projects of the summer. It gets off to a slightly bizarre start with the droning dissonance of “King of the Land”, but it quickly bursts into a hand clap-laden romp in “Pacer” and never looks back. Fans of alternative soul music, you best be grabbin’ this one.
