Justin Vernon, Bon Iver’s frontman, released his sophomore album Bon Iver, Bon Iver and it’s no joke that he’s been pushing his musical abilities to the fullest. A multi-instrumentalist, falsetto swooning artist who has worked with Kanye West on My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy, does a wonderful cover of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me“. He scorches an upright, tapping away while letting his voice finish the mold. It’s an extremely minimalist performance, but just another reason to pick up Bon Iver, Bon Iver to see what all the fuss is about. Is it hip-hop? No. Is it good? Yes.
