With a half-assed release back in December, Blu & Exile are now officially ready to release their collaborative follow-up to Below The Heavens. Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them is not meant to be looked at as a follow-up to that earth-shattering debut, though, but the comparisons are going to be hard to avoid. After all, that was one of the most highly coveted hip-hop releases in the past five years.
The new version of Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them is mastered and such, compared to the original version we got a few months ago. Which probably means no more lo-fi rap from Blu. High five! Also, there will be physical copies available, which might get some of you excited if you were unable to find a hard copy of Below The Heavens way back when.
Either way, it looks like Blu is getting things back together, which is a great thing for everyone. Give Me My Flowerss While I Can Still Smell Them is due out Sept. 4, with the 10″ vinyl release of “Maybe One Day” hitting stores July 24.
