It doesn’t hurt to be raised in San Francisco when you’re responsible for routinely pumping out solid ambient dream pop. Frontman Mikey Sanders has had a busy year, with his Halo LP that dropped in the late Winter, and a handful of singles scattered throughout the past seven months. Showing no signs of 2011 surrender, Blackbird Blackbird is back again with “Passions”, another single that sounds as organic as the accompanied cover art. Acoustic guitars roll along as Mikey’s vocals complement the hazy aesthetic; It’s that type of serenity that makes you realize that your Summer is coming to a depressing end.
