I have to hand it to the team behind Black EL and Durkin’s forthcoming Color Commentary album, which drops Aug. 31. Even without handing out one track from that record yet, they have me (at least) anticipating their proper effort after hearing all of these leftovers. This time, we have “Clockwise”, which has been described as a stream-of-consciousness type of track. And once you hear it, I doubt you’ll disagree as EL spits nearly 90 seconds worth of nonstop bars about his life; past, present, and future. But the best part? He’s doing it all over a beat from Durkin that sounds like the Neptunes getting their asses kicked by an NES.
