Living amongst a sea of other submissions was “Incident”, a modest, oriental-inspired track by Brooklyn rapper Biracial Bastard and featured artist Ty that left me in a state of moderate shock. At face value, “Incident” seems to be little more than just that – a record that came into existence without purpose nor gravitational pull on the listener. Behind the lo-fi production and rather steady tone in delivery, however, Bastard is quite the tactician; similarly, producer SLVDR GEO’s toying with the tempo speed of the song’s master track audio yields quietly exciting results.
I know little about Biracial Bastard, but he’s definitely peaked my curiosity. Listen to “Incident” below.
