So it seems like we can’t go a few days without hearing about a new legendary musical artist getting remixed. Although I didn’t write about it here, I got an e-mail about some EDM-centric remix version of Bob Marley’s Legend and, uh, OK. I’m slightly more confident that this newly announced compilation of remixes of select female singers will be enjoyable, if only because acts like Toro Y Moi, Disclosure, and Flume are involved. We’re hearing Toro’s take on Billie Holiday classic “My Man” today and it definitely finds him in a glitchier, abstract setting musically. I dig it but … I just get kinda nervous about stuff like this.
