Azealia Banks Beefs With Baauer Over “Harlem Shake” Remix, Calls Him a “P*ssy”

azealia-banks-purpIt’s becoming more and more evident that Azealia Banks is getting up there on the list of artists who are just the absolute worst. I already couldn’t take her crap anymore during that beef with Angel Haze, but now she’s hit a new low in terms of bat-shit insanity. As you might have noticed, Baauer’s awesome 2012 single “Harlem Shake” is blowing up and has officially become a YouTube meme. That’s fine and all, of course, as it’s pretty much just harmless fun. Yes, I’ll recognize the problems people have with the fact no one is actually doing the Harlem shake, but that’s not the topic today.

Yesterday afternoon, Banks released her own version of Baauer’s track while stating that she was trying to clear the song for her debut, Broke With Expensive Taste. Seeing how she couldn’t accomplish that, Banks, who is a proud Harlemite, released her remix to the web. It wasn’t anything notable, to say the least, but it did catch the attention of Baauer, who had her track removed from Soundcloud. Upon seeing this, the ever-classy Banks fired shots at the producer on Twitter, because of course she did.

Here’s what happened after he simply said, “cause its [sic] not your song lol.”

Some of Baauer’s contemporaries then jumped in, leading Banks to begin spewing out the homophobic slurs…

Sigh. I know what you might be thinking, “Why are you giving her the attention she deserves?” I understand that, but I still firmly believe that idiots like this need to be put on blast. And, if nothing else, maybe Interscope (her label) will continue keeping tabs on her asshattery. When’s that album dropping again?

I really don’t like rappers going in on other beats just to capitalize off the fame the orignal has. Ryan Leslie remixing Suit & Tie HOURS after it dropped or Wiz releasing his Started From The Bottom a day later. Stop it.

she isn’t a rapper. she said that herself. plus she is signed ot a fuckin major label, she doesn’t get those kinds of liberties anymore because it’s all business now. Everything that banks does is about making money.

I think Baauer’s issue is the fact she has done this before and treated other producers terribly.

Baauer didn’t make up the dance for the song.

Maybe Baauer would given her permission if she asked him nicely? A little courtesy goes a long way.

Maybe she would get permission from Baauer if she just asked him nicely? A little courtesy goes a long way.

Have you seen the way she’s treated other producers who just want CREDIT for their beats? That’s the problem here.

Except rappers going over beats they don’t own and releasing them for free has been going on since the beginning of hip hop. There’s nothing spoiled about that. What IS spoiled is demanding someone take down a song that someone else isn’t even making any money off of. People who claim to know shit about hip hop backing Baauer for whining about that need to jump off a cliff.

What? I haven’t heard that Baauer claimed invention of Harlem Shake. Azealia is obviously acting like a spoiled brat here, thinking she could do anything since she’s a woman. This pathetic brat of a homophobe doesn’t deserve even this post.

Agree with Azealia her. The Harlem Shake is over a decade old. White people trying to bring it back and can’t even do it right while also claiming to be the originators of it. :/
