Our initial impression of Autre Ne Veut came from his selection of bedroom-produced lo-fi arrangements back in 2010. Since then, he has been crafting songs that are deeper and more refined, which is exemplified on his lush new single “Counting”. The production is epic, switching between calming tones and a richly layered chorus. There are sampled screams throughout the track, which makes this video featuring Edvard Munch’s The Scream all the more appropriate. Yeah, the video below is morphing, your mind isn’t playing tricks on you.
“Counting” will land on Autre Ne Veut’s forthcoming project Anxiety, which is due out Feb. 12.
