Last week saw the release of rising producer Braxton/Palmer’s Creeper. Hailing from Olympia, Washington, this beatsmith seems to be at the forefront of a budding Northwest dance scene. With deep cuts like “Creeper, Pt. 1″, the pace is set for what is sure to be a bright future for this young artist. Matched with an equally groovy, slightly more vibrant “Pt. 2″, we have two beautiful songs to feast on before we are met with even more wondrous tunes. Let’s hope for those to come sooner than later.

Stream Tricky’s ‘False Idols’ In Its Entirety

Fans of Tricky have been sitting tight, waiting for the release of Tricky‘s latest full-length, False Idols. Compared to prior efforts, False Idols is a fine evolution. Employing Francesca Belmonte and Fifi Rong for vocals, Tricky’s has found a new comfort zone in laid back beats and pillow talk. Strung together with a wide array of percussion and thunderously deep bass, Tricky has yet again built upon his seemingly endless palette of sounds and songwriting.

Koreless – “Last Remnants”

Today marks the release of Koreless‘ new EP, Yugen. To help propel the release, the Scottish producer drops off a cut from the record called “Last Remnants”. Starting slow, the track ticks along with juvenile percussion, slowly built upon with vibrant synthesizers and drum transitions. On the surface this minimalist dreamscape doesn’t seem like much, but after the first minute or so, you will feel yourself drift away.

Kanye West Performs “New Slaves” And “Black Skinhead” On Saturday Night Live

After debuting “New Slaves” on sides of buildings, Kanye West takes to Saturday Night Live to perform the cut, along with another new track “Black Skinhead”. While we heard Hudson Mohawke did indeed play a part in the “New Slaves” track, we are unsure who is behind “Black Skinhead”. It sounds completely different from anything West has ever done, and it is apparent he doesn’t give a shit about radio play this time around. Watch both performances below.

Yeezus drops June 18.

Kanye West To Release ‘Yeezus’ June 18

After premiering lead single “New Slaves” last night, Rap-Up is reporting that Kanye West’s new album will be titled Yeezus. They have also confirmed that June 18 Tweet will indeed be the release date of the full-length, too. We had heard a few album title rumors before, and Yeezus honestly doesn’t sound that far off. And for West, it seems to make perfect sense.

Kanye West Debuts “New Slaves” On Sides Of Buildings

Late last night Kanye West took to Twitter to let his fans know he was dropping a new song. The only catch, you had to go out and find it. Thanks to a map embedded on his website, one could go out and check for a projection of Kanye rapping the cut “New Slaves”. YouTube was able to snag some videos from various locations, including New York City and Wrigley Field in Chicago. And the list of cities and videos are sure to go on and on across the globe.

Oh, and the song? It sounds damn good. West seems more passionate than ever, and the futuristic production sets the mood for what is sure to be yet another exciting West release. We will have more details on that as they come. Watch Kanye perform on Saturday Night Live tonight.

Py – “Polyethers”

There is something so special about a combination of lush vocals and electronic production. Py’s new cut “Polyethers” is another fine example of just that, as her voice takes off in a mist of vibrant synthesizers and rolling percussion. We have heard some of her past work with the likes of Lapalux, but her magnificent new composition shows a new side of promise to this young songstress that we haven’t quite seen before.

Potholes favorite Lee Bannon slides through today with the release of a haunting new beat tape, Never/mind/the/darkness/of/it. Continuously working on his craft, it is already apparent how far this California producer has come. His new tape is dark, deliberate and perhaps more abstract than anything we have heard from him thus far. Project standout “Rellahmatic” would sit beautifully on a horror film soundtrack, while “NeverMindTheDarknessofit” spins together R&B melodies with ease.

The Weeknd – “Kiss Land”

A week later, and the Weeknd‘s forthcoming album is unfortunately still called Kiss Land. But let’s not judge Abel Tesfaye by the title of his album, but rather how the music sounds. And, with the leaking of title track “Kiss Land”, that is exactly what we will do. Surprise surprise, folks, it is another Weeknd song. With references to having sex and taking Adderall, it is clear that Abel hasn’t matured in even the slightest. Oh, and the production is, well, exactly the same, too.

Watch Treach of Naughty By Nature Perform “O.P.P.” With The Roots

Despite the drama surrounding Naughty By Nature, Treach of the legendary hip-hop crew came through Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to throw down their most notable cut, “O.P.P.”. Despite sitting down for the entire track, Treach brings to the crowd an undeniable energy alongside hype man Black Thought and the rest of the Foundation. There is no further information as to whether Naughty By Nature is actually broken up, but it doesn’t help their case when only one member comes through New York to play with the Roots.
