Dakim fans understand, whenever something “Dakim-related” is up for grabs, you have to act fast in order have a chance to get your hands on it due to the scarcity of it all — or else suffer having to read the words “sold out/out of stock” time and time again. Here my friends is yet another chance. If you’re familiar with the Detroit-based Butter Made Records, you may have the seen the name “Audopilots” thrown around a few times. They are a hip-hop quartet consisting of members The Raven, The Owl, The Penguin, The Albatross (use your imagination to decide which name belongs to whom.) that has a knack for rapping knowledge over free-form production, and they do it well. Their vinyl-only album Phoebastia Nigripes, which is safe to consider Audopilots’ first proper release on (iN)Sect Records, was recently released with very little information. I received my copy in the mail not that long and I still don’t know much about it besides that I now have 14 untamed, thought-provoking songs in my possession. I’d suggest getting yourself a copy too, and get your brain a much-needed workout.
