Atmosphere – “The Best Day”

In his review of Atmosphere’s latest project — the double-EP To All My Friends, Blood Makes the Blade Holy — Potholes’ own Fred Castano wrote the following about album highlight “The Best Day”:

“The Best Day” hits on every “day late and buck short” scenario that we all hit in our early adulthood one way or another, from overdraft charges to flat tires and hating your job, but the lesson taught is an analysis of Atmosphere itself: take the bad with the good.

I couldn’t have put it any better myself. This is exactly why many of us have grown to love Slug and Ant’s music. Yeah, it might deal with some darker, less-than-happy topics, but there’s always some hope in there. You can feel that throughout the visuals for “The Best Day”, which you can peep after the jump. The photograph-driven video is particularly moving toward the end, when there is a quick memorial to late rapper Mikey “Eyedea” Larsen. RIP.

Stream the track below and check the video after the skip.
