Asher Roth & Nottz – “Break Bread”

The more the hype fades for Asher Roth, the more I begin to appreciate him and his music. Maybe it was the college crowd that was turning me off more than his corny singles about drinking games and whatever else the general frat consensus was demanding. Anyway, it has become pretty evident that Roth is an emcee, especially when he teams up with heavyweights like Nottz. And I have to admit, this caught me completely by surprise when this single landed in my inbox today. Regardless, I am glad that it happened, as we get to hear more of that hungry Asher that continues to impress. “Break Bread” is the first single off Rawth, a collaborative free EP between Asher and Nottz, which we can expect some time after Christmas. Hopefully this marks a new beginning in Asher’s career, one filled with respect and recognition from a fanbase that doesn’t consist of Polo-wearing chilled-out Chad-bros.

  1. That Blu comparison ain’t so far off now that you mention it.

  2. Always liked Asher, I used to bump the first tape he had but deleted it when he blew up, haha. The album sucked, but Asher’s alright with me. Is it just me or is he sounding a little bit like Blu lately?

  3. I rock Polo eye-glasses, why you hatin’?

    All love though.

  4. Very nice beat indeed
