DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF AN ACTUAL ALBUM BUT A NEW FEATURE IN WHICH WE OUTLINE A PROJECT WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE HAPPEN.

While Thom Yorke is undoubtedly an “indie” artist, there is a reason why he keeps so close to hip-hop and the underground beat scene. Not that indie is stale, but production within hip-hop has never been so expansive, as new artists continue to flow in, raising the bar time and again. We are talking cats like Flying Lotus, Burial, Four Tet and more, who effortlessly reinvent their sound with each and every release. Over time we have noticed Yorke’s ability to adsorb all of these different sounds and influences like a sponge, and then find a way to apply it to his own output.

One artist Thom Yorke has worked with in different capacities in the past is DOOM. This occurred first with his remix of DOOM’s “Gazzillion Ear” and then was followed by their original collaboration, “Retarded Fren”. We got really damn excited about both of those releases, not only because of the two heavyweights involved, but also because of how well their sounds married. With that said, our latest armchair A&R urges Thom Yorke and DOOM to come together for a full-fledged album that tests the limits of their respective creative capacities.
