This wasn’t quite a serendipitous music discovery, but instead one of much ardor (not entirely). I was cruisin’ through some previous Potholes posts, when I took a listen to the mighty fine album Strangers, by Tearjerker that was posted by Kara-Lis Coverdale. After skimming through their Bandcamp, I came upon the work of their musical friends, Arches, and decided to take a listen. Allow me to say, I’m glad I did. Arches blends the best of bright summer chillwave with melancholy indie sensibilities (I know, it’s quite the contrast, but it’ll make sense when you listen). Also, if you’re wondering if that’s the actual band photo – it’s not.
