Andre 3000 Doesn’t Seem Enthusiastic About A Solo Album

So we already heard that Andre 3000 is too busy with “Gillette shit” to record a guest verse for Big Boi’s new album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. And now Rolling Stone has revealed that Three Stacks probably won’t release a solo album of his own. OK, that’s kind of bleak, but he doesn’t sound too excited about the prospect of doing so. I guess he’d rather just spit some killer bars and play a terrible guitar solo on a Rick Ross album than throw 12 tracks together an appease the world? Fine.

Read the interview at Rolling Stone and peep the quote in question below.

“Things are kind of up in the air with me, and some days, I feel like yeah, I’ll do it. Some days, I feel like, I don’t. I don’t know the future of music right now. I have no idea what I do. I honestly don’t,” he says. “I record and I write ideas. I think I’ll always do that, for some reason. But I don’t know if it will go to another artist or will it be my stuff or will it go to some movie? I don’t know. I just kind of keep creating and hopefully, it’ll fall into a slot.”

Inspiration is a tricky thing. What else does Andre have to prove, really?? He already is in alot of peoples Legendary status bracket, he went Diamond with The Love Below so commercial goals have all been conquered. What’s left for him to do?? We all know that if another Outkast album appeared tomorrow, it would get nit-picked & over-analyzed to death simply because of the weight of their legacy ; Nothing they could come up with in 2013 would be good enough. I just look at things and try and imagine myself in the position, plus Dre & I have the same birthday so maybe its an aquarian thing but I myself lose interest in things when I realize there’s no where else to go. Once I beat a video game I never play it again, etc etc. I get the feeling he see’s rap on some “Been there, done that” shit

How dope would another Outkast album be though? At least Big Boi is still doing his thing.

You are definitely right about the expectations being too high. That’s enough right there to know he will most likely never do a solo project.

The expectations are too jacked up for Andre to feel comfortable with making an album. Someone is just going to have to steal like 12-16 tracks he ain’t put on anyone else’s work and mix/master it on their own.

Been told people this. You don’t have to announce your retirement to be retired. Can we stop acting like Outkast or Andre 3000 will ever drop an album again now. I gave up on that years ago, I feel like everyone else should now too, especially after these recent statements from him and Big Boi.
