I’m on the fence with this one. Not because 14KT’s beat is lackluster, or because Aloe doesn’t cut it on the rhymes, but I kind of just enjoyed this production without an emcee on it. With that said, “Fourteen” is a great return to hip-hop for Aloe Blacc after his relatively long stint in the soul scene. That isn’t to say he will be leaving that field any time soon, as he has seen far more success, and quite frankly, made better music. But anyway, “Fourteen” is Aloe Blacc rapping over one of KT’s beats from the free Nowalataz project, which dropped last year. Word of the street says that there will be a reissue of Nowalataz, and it will feature more artists like Boog Brown and Magestik Legend.
