Ali Shaheed Muhammad Says No Chance Of New A Tribe Called Quest Album

a tribe called quest bw Ali Shaheed Muhammad Says No Chance Of New A Tribe Called Quest AlbumIn a recent interview with Montreality, Ali Shaheed Muhammad revealed that there was no chance of a new A Tribe Called Quest album, among other topics. He also touched on Dilla, growing up, and the music industry, but our main focus definitely falls on this Tribe album news. We knew this was probably what it came down to, but this pretty much seals the deal for everyone. Who knows, things can definitely change, but for now it looks like we shouldn’t bank on a reunion album any time soon.

With that said, I’m not all that mad. The chemistry and creative flow between this crew seemed to be dwindling towards the ends of their life together. And we already have a ton of awesome music to hold on to. Let’s just hope they tour together every now and then. Although we all remember how that ended up last time.

People want another one? Naw. They left good enough. I just want more Q-Tip and more Ali. Sorry Phife.

Sadly, I had no hope here :( I want to be wrong, but if I have to be honest, I expect just another generic mediocre GOOD music release. A few good moments, a few cheesy RnB songs feat the trendiest RnB singers, a song with Kanye that is supposed to be the single, probably a boring song with John Legend too….something like this. Just imagine a legend like Q-tip, rapping with some weak ass dude like Big Sean…..or rapping over Drumma Boy’s cheesy teenage rap production :/

I’m still holding out for The Last Zulu being good. I just hope Q-Tip doesn’t let one of those goofballs on it (for too long).

Maybe i’m to much of a ATCQ stan, but I love all their albums. The first 3 are amazing, but Beats Rhymes and Life and Love Movement are also pretty good. I know that especially in The Love Movement you can hear the “chemistry loss” but the album still has many great moments. I would still love to hear some solo albums, but I don’t believe that they will be anything great…especially with Q-tip being signed to GOOD music with all these goofballs.
